I have developed a series of mixed media paintings, using a layering process to create texture with surface preparation and acrylic inks for their translucency, to represent the quicksilver moods of the English seasons.
Painting the landscape, in situ or using photographs, I am inspired by the rolling hills and copses, wildflowers and coast of England, particularly the South Hams and the Witterings.
In March 2017 the painting Sails I (Gallery 1) was successfully auctioned in support of the David Nott Foundation. David is a surgeon who has been working in Syria in the most difficult conditions and his charity is to raise money for equipment and expertise davidnottfoundation.com
In April 2017 Beach 2 (Gallery 2) was donated to the Parkinson UK charity and was auctioned to raise money during Parkinson Awareness Week.
In August 2017 Safe Harbour was awarded the David Yellop Academy Award at an exhibition in Petersfield, Hampshire
